The hunt for my red october

Postby m7600 » Wed Jul 28, 2010 7:41 pm

 The hunt is just begin ^:)^

I identify 4 units

1. (2001)WPF 8980 Silver Grey 20VT+, 52k asking, milage & ownership unknown, ad by Klang dealer

2. (2006)Dark Blue, plate unknown, 20VT+, 68k asking, 1 owner, 40k milage, ad by the same dealer

3. (1999) WHB 6866, Black 20VT+, 1 owner, 40k milage asking 60k private owner.

4. (2005) CBR 733 striking Blue, 1 owner, 36k milage, asking 69k private owner------ very tempting but car in terrengganu.

Someone recommend JPG 832, with dam high milage 190k. I still hope for lower milage cos intend to keep this car till my son 18 yrs old for college use.

Please let me know if this are the good buy based on the car history that u may know.

Some suggested pointers to pin down Red October:

1. What's owner like? Responsible, matured type OR boy-racer type struggling with $$$ and car loan repayments?

2. What's service/maintenance records like? Full, well kept records OR little/no service history?

3. Who serviced/maintained car? Dedicated specialist/authorized dealer OR any workshop/friend out there?

4. Is car straight? Minor paintwork blemishes OR prior serious accident(s)?

5. How's car used mainly? Weekend/social car OR daily drive?

6. What's owner's likely driving style? Normal footed mostly OR heavy footed mainly?

7. What's mileage? Low (10 km less/year) OR high (20k km plus/year)?

8. What's production year? Late year/refined model OR early/first generation/prototype?

Then you:

1. Test drive
2. Get specialist to inspect
3. Make price offer

Cheers!

Those private owns one looks good.
No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin, or his background, or his religion. People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite.

Obviously this is the best and looks similar to yours.... May be the Mechs chrage me rm2k to fly down Terrengganu to check out the car. But looking at the Striking cool JaZZZZ Blueeeee & the low milages, I think this unit can never be wrong [-O< [-O< . Once after, I stick on the IA sticker......most IA members would mistakenly thought this is the "Blue slut" that mod > 45k......they should dun dare to challenge.....

Thats end my hunting I guess, the more I look the more I beh tahan :bangh: :bs:

sorry to burst ur bubble, but CBR 733 is Electric Blue, which is a stock coupe color. Cool Jazz Blue is a little lighter and a lot brighter.

m7600: Dude, just a note of caution. There was quite a lot of discussion regarding the blue coupe at Klang Ty in this forum some time back. Carries Negeri plate rite?

Some CLAIM that this car was not well looked after by previous owner & has had quite a prang on the side. Very well disguised. Please note that this is hearsay but just be extra vigilant, ok?

And if ye do go to Klang TY ask the tauke where he hiding the 2009 reg cherry red unit? It was parked in the back when me was there few months ago & he says he just got it & is waiting to refurbish the car. That one did look very good.

But then again, yer are rite, the blue car in the east Coast looks da bomb!

Good luck with the hunt matey & hope ye can join our little "gwai lan" club soon!

The one which is cool jazz blue is slanted on one side if you look from the front or back... slanted downwards to the driver side :P
