Spotted a wrecked Porsche Gemballa Avalanche

Postby Loki » Sat Jul 31, 2010 6:19 pm

On another note, I spotted this wrecked Porsche Gemballa Avalanche at Exquisite Marques. Not sure if its a 2006 or 2008 edition or just a normal Porsche with the bodykit.

Well anyway, supposedly its a Avalanche! The story goes that it crashed entering the Penchala-link tunnel - a combination of rain and an overeager driver.

I should have taken pics of the sides and the rear but was in a hurry to purchase some Royal Purple 5W40 engine oil for my Silvia.

Background on the Avalanche:

The basis of the Avalanche 600 GT EVO is the Porsche 997 turbo or the GT2. GEMBALLA even knows how to boost the already impressive set of performance figures of the production model.

• 600 bhp and 840 Nm torque thanks to GEMBALLA power kit
• 320 km/h, 0-100 km/h in 3.5 seconds
• Elegant and sporty body conversion with special paint finish
• Sports exhaust system and 20-inch “Racing” wheels
• Coilover suspension; more powerful braking system
• Sporty and luxurious interior trim

I was wondering when someone would actually notice that hehe .

Motorcycle helmets owned by the workshop staff probably. They were already there when I snapped the pic.

Ouch! Now how do I go about getting its front brakes

That is a real Gemballa Avalanche and yes, it does belong to the boss. The fellow doesn't need the car and they can't get Gemballa parts anymore from the now defunct company after the recent fiasco.

Exquisite has also dropped the dealership for Gemballa as a whole as well.

Loki,

What were you doing there bro? Thinking of modding the Q5 is it?
